Karen Escobar

Overview
Karen is a solicitor with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame.
History
Karen was admitted to the Western Australian Supreme Court in November 2021. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2020 with a degree in Law and Arts, majoring in journalism, having started her tertiary studies in 2015. She has been with MP Commercial Lawyers since 2019, initially as a research clerk during her final two years of university and then in 2020 as a law graduate completing her practical legal placement.
During her time at university she volunteered as a paralegal at the Mental Health Law Centre. She was also a committee member and the Media and Communications Officer for PEN Perth, a not-for-profit international organisation dedicated to promoting (responsible) freedom of speech.
Areas of Expertise
As MP Commercial Lawyers’ sole solicitor, she is involved with matters handled by both Steven Pynt and David McDonald. She is presently gaining experience in all practice areas of MP Commercial Lawyers and has a keen interest in:
- Business and Corporations Law;
- Trusts;
- Wills and Estate Planning;
- Property Settlements; and
- Probate and Letters of Administration.
Recognition
Karen was awarded the University of Notre Dame Journalism Commended Academic Performance (Upper Year) 2018 award and the University of Notre Dame Law School Alexander Sergius Eustace Horan Scholarship for the years 2019 and 2020.
